Presidency of STC calls on the government to assume its responsibilities in providing services, especially electricity

The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), in its meeting held on Monday, affirmed its full support for everything stated in the recent statements of the governor of the capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, through which he called on the government power-sharing to assume its responsibilities in providing basic services to citizens, foremost of which is the electricity service.

In its meeting chaired by the Secretary-General, Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, the Presidency called on the power-sharing government to assume its responsibilities and carry out its tasks in providing basic services to the citizens in accordance with the requirements of the Riyadh Agreement, stressing that the electricity file is a humanitarian one, and the government must assume its responsibilities in addressing it and not to employing it politically.

The Presidency expressed its surprising of the government ignoring and obstructing all the agreements signed between the governor of the capital and the prime minister to address the electricity file, and reiterated its support for the governor and his great efforts to stabilize the situation in the capital, Aden, and provide basic services to citizens despite all obstacles.

In the same context, the Presidency in its meeting expressed its rejection of all non-consensual appointments and unilateral decisions made by the premiership of the government and a number of ministers in clear violation of the Riyadh Agreement, noting that these irresponsible actions only serve the parties that seek to thwart and undermine the agreement.

In its meeting, the Presidency stood before of the domestic gas crisis in the capital, Aden, and a number of governorates of the South, and discussed its causes and ways and mechanisms of addressing it in order to end the crisis and provide domestic gas to citizens as soon as possible.

The meeting also reviewed a number of military and security issues on its agenda and taking the necessary measures in this regard.
