Presidency of STC: Restoring the Southern State is strategic goal for the people of the South that cannot be undone

The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), on Monday, held its periodic meeting, headed by Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Acting President of the Council, Chairman of the National Assembly.
At the beginning of their meeting, the participants stood for a minute of mourning to read Al-Fatihah on the soul of the deceased of the homeland, Major General Saleh Al-Sayyid, Staff of the Southern Land Forces, Director of Security for Lahj, and for all the martyrs of the South who sacrificed their lives to defend its land and protect its security and stability.
In its meeting, the Presidency reviewed the developments in the political arena, foremost of which is the path of the peace process in which the Arab Coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are making efforts in it, with the support of the international community, to reach a comprehensive and sustainable solution in the region. In this regard, the Presidency affirmed its absolute support for the efforts of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Transitional Council, and his supportive positions for the brothers in the Arab Coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in their efforts to bring peace and restore stability to the region, and in this regard, the Presidency renewed the support of STC for the efforts of the international community and in supporting its initiative.
In its meeting, the Presidency reaffirmed that the South does not seek separation, but rather to restore its state with its full sovereignty, which is a strategic goal for the people of the South and will not back down from it under any circumstances, stressing that the two-state solution is the only way to a comprehensive solution and achieve lasting peace, security and stability in the region.
In the same context, the Presidency of STC affirmed that the negotiating framework for the issue of the people of the South must be commensurate with the value of the South as an active party in the political process and its full right to acknowledge all issues related to the South and the negotiating process in all its stages, including confidence-building negotiations and stopping the war on all extended fronts along its borders.
In this regard, the Presidency affirmed STC’s rejection of any measures aimed at harming the South and its sovereign economic resources, at a time when the army and security personnel in the South are still without salaries and are deprived of the most basic rights.
In its meeting, the Presidency stressed the STC’s adherence to the right of the South to recognize all political, economic, financial, military, and security issues, and everything related to the South, or affecting the rights and interests of its people, and its sovereignty over its wealth and land.
In another context, the Presidency discussed the results of the meetings held by the Acting President of STC with the STC’s bodies, federations and trade unions, in addition to the two reports submitted by the Supreme Commission for Southern Women and the Decision-Making Support Center and took the necessary actions in this regard.
