Presidency of STC salutes victories of southern Giants forces in Shabwa and return of Elite and leadership of STC to Ataq

The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), on Monday, held its first periodic meeting for the year 2022, headed by Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Acting President of the Council, Chairman of the National Assembly.

At the beginning of its meeting, which was attended by the ministers of STC in the government of power-sharing, the Presidency praised the great victories of the Southern Giants (AL-AMALIKA) forces backed by the Arab Coalition, which culminated in the first results of defeating the terrorist Houthi militias from Usaylan district of Shabwa governorate, and preparing to liberate the rest of the districts of Bayhan, which the militias of Brotherhood handed over to the Houthis in last September.

In the same context, the Presidency commended the return of the Shabwani Elite Forces, and this coincided with the return of the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in the governorate to Ataq, stressing that this will allow the reactivation of the role of the STC and the Shabwani elite politically and security to preserve the general tranquility of citizens, and chase the remnants of terrorists and liquidate their outposts that were held by Brotherhood leaders and their militias during the past two years.

The Presidency reviewed the developments of the second Hadrami uprising, stressing that it created great confusion for the influential forces in the legitimacy authority, which has been plundering the wealth of the governorate and the South, by exposing other natural resources, which were looted and transported from the land of Hadramout to the Yemeni governorates for the benefit of higher political and military Brotherhood leaders, without the knowledge of the government, stressing the necessity of the continuity, steadfastness, and expansion of the second uprising, and the use of all means of pressure, to stop all forms of corruption and looting, and to direct resources to improve the living conditions of the people.

The Presidency discussed the performance of the power-sharing government during the past period, stressing the need to direct all capabilities to assist it in carrying out its tasks, calling on the Arab Coalition, the Quartet, and the countries of the region and other countries, to support the government of power-sharing to stabilize the value of the local currency, and improve the living conditions of citizens.

In another context, the Presidency praised the wide community movement in Al-Mahra governorate to achieve the economic, security and service goals of the people of the governorate, stop the looting of its lands and wealth, and preserve its security and stability.

In its meeting, the Presidency also discussed the status of the National Museum in the capital, Aden, and the accumulated obstacles facing its work, calling in this context for both the government and the local authority to review the status of the museum and take everything possible to restore its role as a tourist, archaeological, and historical landmark that embodies the sacrifices of the people of the South and their tireless struggle against all forms of occupation to wrest its freedom, independence and dignity.

The meeting also touched on the living conditions and service problems faced by the people of Mayon Island, which is affiliated to Malla district, calling on the leadership of the local authority in the capital, Aden, to provide all possible support to address the problems of its residents and improve services there.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Presidency discussed a number of other topics related to the work of the bodies of the Council and took the necessary measures in this regard.
