Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council praises popular movements in Shabwa

The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, held on Monday, its periodic meeting headed by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Council, in which the Presidency praised the mass popular movements in Shabwa governorate that express the free will of rejecting the occupying and destructive policies pursued by the Muslim Brotherhood, which controls the governorate and its resources by the force of arms.

The Presidency of the Council valued the growing public momentum in all the districts of Shabwa governorate, led by the popular and mass movement, in the districts of Rudhum, Nisab, Al Talh, Al-Saeed, and regions of Huda, Bayhan, Al-Rawdah, and Khoura, and all cities and villages of Shabwa governorate, stressing the support of the Council’s leadership for those movements that express the free national will of the sons of Shabwa to end the guardianship on their governorate, to achieve the will of its sons for liberation and independence, and restoring the southern state with its full sovereignty.

The Presidency of the Council renewed its rejection of the provocations carried out by the militias of the Muslim Brotherhood in Balhaf, the latest of which was establishing checkpoints by elements of these militias at the coastal line.

In its meeting, the Presidency reviewed the situation on the fronts of Thera, Karish, Al-Dhalea, Tur Al-Baha and the western coast, praising the heroic epics that the heroes of the southern armed forces are conducting on these fronts, demanding the government of power-sharing to pay the salaries of the army and security, and to implement its repeated promises in this aspect as soon as possible.

 The Presidency also discussed the latest developments in the political situation at the regional and international levels, reiterating its welcome to the visit of the UN envoy, Mr. Hans Grundberg, who arrived on Sunday evening to the capital, Aden, to continue his consultations aimed at achieving a comprehensive peace process.

In the same context, the Presidency renewed its position in supporting the efforts of the UN envoy, Mr. Grundberg, stressing the importance of designing a comprehensive peace process, in which the Southern Transitional Council would be a pivotal party in it as a representative of the people of the south from the beginning.

On another matter, the Presidency of the Council saluted the active participation of the people of the southern communities abroad, and the mass movements in support of the demands of the people of the south for liberation and independence, the most recent of which was the mass gatherings of the southern community in Birmingham of Britain, and the southern community in New York City in USA, and Stockholm of Sweden, supporting the popular uprising in Shabwa governorate.
