Presidency of Transitional Council: We participated in parity government out of our keenness to provide decent life for our southern people
SMA NEWS – ADEN the Capital
The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held its periodic meeting, on Thursday, chaired by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Council.
In the meeting, which was attended by the Council’s ministers in the parity government, the Presidency of the Transitional Council reviewed the latest political, economic and service developments on the southern arena.
During its discussion of the economic and service collapse in the capital, Aden, and the South in general, the Presidency stressed that the influential forces in the Yemeni government, which impede the completion of the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, and the return of the parity government to the capital, Aden, unfortunately practice, under the umbrella of legitimacy, the policy of collective punishment and the war of services against our southern people, noting that the Council has participated in the government of parity in terms of providing a decent life for our southern people, and will not accept any practices that would abuse our people and deprive them of their rights.
The Presidency of the Council stressed that the terrible deterioration of the situation was only the result of a deliberate process of obstruction and impediment to the completion of the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, at the forefront of which is the refusal of the Prime Minister and some of his government ministers to return to the capital, Aden, without any justification,
despite the commendable efforts that the Arab coalition, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the repeated calls by us in the Transitional Council for the return of the government to carry out its responsibilities and duties towards the citizens, also the Presidency called on to resume consultations to complete the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement as soon as possible.
The Presidency of the Council warned against the consequences of the repressive authorities in Shabwa governorate and their persistence in practicing all forms of terrorism, including killing, abuse, kidnapping and torture, pointing to the criminal physical torture that detainees in the prisons of the so-called Special Forces are subjected to in Shabwa, especially the leader in the southern resistance, Hassan Al-Taffi, who was one of the first to resist the Houthi invaders, in which that proves the Houthi project is in league with the Muslim Brotherhood in Shabwa, calling on civil society and human rights organizations to play their role in the face of these grave violations.
During its meeting, the Presidency also discussed a report on what the Southern National Dialogue Committee had accomplished during its consultations with a number of southern figures in the Arab Republic of Egypt, appreciating the positive results reached by the team, and stressing its support for everything that would strengthen the unity of the southern ranks on the path to achieving legitimate national goals of our great southern people.
