President Al-Zoubaidi Discusses with Acting Chinese Ambassador Current Developments in Political Process

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zoubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), received today, Saturday, H.E. Mr. Shao Zheng, the acting ambassador of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to Yemen.

They discussed the latest developments in the political process aimed at durably ending the war and restoring stability to both the country and the entire region, and the efforts that have been made by the official brothers in the coalition countries led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the international community in this direction.

In the meeting, President Al-Zoubaidi affirmed the support of the STC and the PLC for all efforts made by official brothers and friends to end the war and restore stability to the region, expressing his aspiration and the PLC for a greater Chinese role in advancing efforts to bring peace in the country.

Furthermore, President Al-Zoubaidi highly appreciated the role of China in supporting and assisting our people in their ordeal, commending the humanitarian support provided by the Chinese government to the country in vital sectors, most notably the health and food security sectors.

For his part, the Acting Chinese Ambassador reiterated his country’s position in support of the various efforts made at the regional and international levels to reach an end to the war in Yemen and launch a comprehensive and inclusive political process that establishes sustainable peace in the country and the region, noting his country’s firm position in supporting the PLC and the government and the Chinese government’s keenness to continue its humanitarian support in various fields.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Imad Mohammad, Office Director of the Vice President of the PLC, Mr. Anis Al-Sharafi, Deputy Director of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the STC.
