President Al-Zubaidi Continues Discussions with Heads of Delegations Participating in the WEF

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), continued his discussions with the heads of delegations participating in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.

On the sidelines of his participation in the forum’s activities on Wednesday morning, President Al-Zubaidi met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, H.E. Mr. Espen Barth Eide, where he discussed with him regional developments, strategic risks, and the need for addressing their root causes, including a comprehensive approach to ensure a durable political solution for our people in light of the Houthi escalation targeting international shipping lanes in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb Strait. President Al-Zubaidi appreciated the humanitarian support provided by Norway to alleviate the repercussions of the humanitarian crisis left by the war in the country.

In the same context, President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi held a bilateral meeting this evening with H.E. Ms.Tanja Fajon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, during which he discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and the role of Slovenia in advancing efforts to bring peace to the region through its position as a member of the Security Council.

As part of his meetings on the sidelines of the WEF, President Al-Zubaidi, too, held a bilateral meeting this evening with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Timor-Leste, Mr. Xanana Gusmão, during which the two sides reviewed the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to strengthen them. They also discussed the experience of Timor-Leste in economic recovery, building state institutions, and the possibility of benefiting from their experience in the post-conflict phase and establishing peace.
