President Al-Zubaidi Gets Briefed on Workflow and Readiness of Coast Guard

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (LPC), met today, Tuesday, with Major General Khaled Al-Qumali, commander of the Coast Guard Forces.

President Al-Zubaidi listened to Major General Al-Qumali, who gave a detailed explanation of the workflow in the Coast Guard Authority, the level of readiness of the forces, the equipment and mechanisms of the Authority, and possible ways to boost and develop its mission.

The President underscored the important role of the Coast Guard, as a specialized authority in maritime security, in confronting potential risks such as piracy and smuggling and combating all kinds of marine mines in coordination with the naval military units and the relevant authorities.

President Al-Zubaidi stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to enhance capabilities and establish specialized training programs to well-qualify the personnel and officers of the authority and polish up their drilling skills, affirming his readiness to provide whatever is possible to support the command of the Coast Guard to be able to properly perform the security tasks.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Emad Mohammed, Office Head of the Vice President of the PLC.
