President Al-Zubaidi Gets Briefed on Workflow of SJC and Needs to Perform Duties of Courts and Public Prosecution Offices

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met at his office today, Thursday, with the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), led by Judge Mohsen Talib Al-Hawshabi, Chairman of the SJC.

During the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi was briefed by Judge Al-Hawshabi and members of the SJC on a detailed explanation of the Workflow and challenges facing the SJC in particular and the judiciary in general.

Similarly, President Al-Zubaidi listened to certain suggestions to efficiently improve the performance of the work of the public prosecution offices and courts and to provide the required needs of judges, directors of public prosecutors, and judicial staff in general so that they can properly perform their duties and responsibilities to proceed without obstruction.

It is worth mentioning that President Al-Zubaidi reiterated his support for the SJC and its efforts to activate the work of courts and prosecutors to speed up the process of adjudicating citizens’ cases as expeditiously as possible, prioritizing public opinion cases and serious criminal offenses.

President Al-Zubaidi also stressed the importance of completing the formation of the remaining jurisdictional departments in the Supreme Court and providing them with well-qualified and competent staff, as well as activating the work of all bodies affiliated with the SJC to perform their role in combating financial and administrative corruption and maintaining the rule of law.

At the end of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi promised the chairman and members of the SJC to put all their requirements on the table of the PLC to quickly provide, even at a minimum, to ensure the continuation of the work of the courts and prosecution offices and to enhance their role in protecting the rights of citizens.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Emad Mohammed, Office Head of the Vice President of the PLC.
