President Al-Zubaidi: “Indeed, we are keen to empower women to regain their leading role in the South”

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the president of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Deputy Head of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), affirmed the keenness of the leadership of the STC to empower southern women to regain their leading role as half of society, and partners of men in all fields. It took place at a meeting, in his office in the capital, Aden, on Monday, with a political and right activist, Ms. Radhia Shamsheer.

At the beginning of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi welcomed Ms. Radhia Shamsheer, who can be considered as a major feminist in the South, praising the struggle roles that the southern woman have been playing throughout the history of the southern revolution, affirming the keenness of the leadership of the STC to empower southern women to regain their leading role and proactive presence in many different fields.

President Al-Zubaidi reaffirmed the commitment of the STC’s to granting southern women the status they deserve through their participation in the political arena and the equitable representation in state institutions both internally and externally.

In turn, Ms. Radhia Shamsheer reviewed the contributions of southern women and their role in the various stages of the southern revolution, in addition to their pioneering role in building the State.

The meeting discussed ways and mechanisms for coordinating work with the Southern National Dialogue Team (SNDT) and its endeavours to create a broad southern cohesiveness to get ready to fulfill the upcoming entitlements.

The meeting was attended by lawyer Niran Souqi, member of the STC’s Presidium, deputy chairperson of the National Assembly, and Mr. Abdul-Salam Qassem Musa’ed, deputy head of the Internal Southern National Dialogue Team (ISNDT).
