President Al-Zubaidi Inspects Search and Rescue Unit at Socotra International Airport

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), accompanied by Eng. Raafat Al-Thaqali, governor of the Socotra Archipelago, and Dr. Abdul-Salam Humaid, minister of transport, inspected on Thursday the Search and Rescue Unit at Socotra International Airport.
During the visit, President Al-Zubaidi, joined by Mr. Saeed bin Qublan, head of the local leadership executive body (LLEB) of the STC in the Socotra Archipelago, listened to a detailed briefing from the unit’s officials on its operational mechanisms, readiness, and efforts in providing rescue services and rapid response to emergencies and assistance to individuals stranded on land or at sea.
President Al-Zubaidi praised the unwavering support of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the operations of this vital unit, including the provision of modern equipment and supplies, as well as the training and qualification of its personnel to meet the highest international standards, and highlighted the significant role of such assistance in bolstering safety measures and rapid emergency response capabilities across Socotra.
