President Al-Zubaidi meets Abyan bloc in National Assembly and STC’s General Secretariat members from Abyan governorate

The President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, on Tuesday, held a meeting with Abyan bloc members in the National Assembly, and members of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of STC from Abyan governorate.
In the meeting, which was attended by Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly, and the two members of the Presidency of STC, Brigadier General Ali Al Shaybah and Brigadier General Pilot Nasser Al Saadi, President Al-Zubaidi reiterated the great importance of Abyan governorate, and the political, economic and military weight it represents, as it is the South’s flank and its geographical depth.
President Al-Zubaidi praised the nationalist militant roles of the people of Abyan along the path of the southern liberation revolution, and the sacrifices they made to support the southern armed forces, and their efforts to consolidate security and stability, and to confront terrorist organizations that do not want good for Abyan and its people
President Al-Zubaidi affirmed that Abyan has never been an incubator of terrorism, but rather that its people and their governorate were the first to suffer from its fire, stressing the stand up against attempts of mislead extremist elements to turn the governorate into a hotbed of terrorism, led by the heroes of the governorate, .
President Al-Zubaidi pointed out that the primary responsibility for solving the problems that Abyan suffers from falls on the people of the governorate themselves, stressing in the context the need to activate the work of the local leadership of STC in all the districts and centers of the governorate, and to intensify their efforts among the citizens, feel out their worries and problems, and contribute to solving them with the available means.
After that, President Al-Zubaidi listened from the participants to a number of opinions and proposals regarding the problems that the governorate of Abyan is suffering from, and ways to solve them, in which they delivered their thanks for his keenness and special interest in restoring security and stability to the governorate, and expressing their willingness to carry out any tasks that would contribute to solving the problems that the governorate suffers from and consolidating security and stability in it.
At the end of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi assigned a committee of those present, headed by Major General Mohammed Ali Hadi, Deputy Head of the Security Committee in the National Assembly, to go to the governorate and find out about all the problems it is witnessing in various fields, and work to solve them with all available means in coordination with the concerned parties in the local authority, the security services, the local leadership of STC in the districts and centers, sheikhs, notables, and social figures, stressing his support for the committee to enable it to accomplish its tasks.
