President Al-Zubaidi Pays Visit to Noor Zayid 1 Solar Power Plant in Socotra and Appreciates UAE’s Support for the Archipelago

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), paid a visit on Tuesday to the Noor Zayed 1 Solar Power Station in the Socotra Archipelago.
During the visit, President Al-Zubaidi, accompanied by Socotra Governor Eng. Ra’afat Al-Thaqali, several ministers, and a number of STC’s senior leaders, received a detailed briefing from Eng. Yasser Al-Ani, the supervisor of the archipelago’s power stations. The briefing outlined the performance of six power stations provided by the United Arab Emirates and their generation capacity, which has successfully met the electricity needs of all areas in the downtown, Hadibo, through a modern in-ground distribution network operating around the clock.
Eng. Al-Ani also provided a brief overview of future developmental plans, which include expanding the capacity of the power stations to serve all areas of the archipelago. In addition, the plans involve the qualifying and training of local personnel from Socotra to ensure the sustainable and efficient operation of the power stations.
President Al-Zubaidi praised the generous support provided by the United Arab Emirates to the electricity sector in Socotra, reaffirming that this unwavering support has made the archipelago a standard model of stable electricity services at the national level.
