President Al-Zubaidi praises active participation of people of Socotra in founding meeting of the House of Commons

President Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received on Wednesday, Socotra Governorate delegation participating in the founding meeting of the House of Commons, from members of the National Assembly and the Advisory Council.

At the beginning of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi praised the active presence of Socotra representatives in the founding meeting of the House of Commons, the first session of the National Assembly for the year 2024, and the founding meeting of the Advisory Council, stressing that this reflects the great keenness of the people of Socotra to contribute to making decisions related to the future of the south.

President Al-Zubaidi praised the state of security and stability witnessed by the Socotra Archipelago Governorate, noting that this is a natural product of the interconnectedness, alignment and cohesion between the various components of Socotra society, urging those present to further unite and be open to everyone with their various orientations, and to be of assistance and support to the local authority, in a way that enhances the state of stability, which the governorate is witnessing, and the gains achieved thanks to the sacrifices made by the people of the archipelago who are members of the military and security institutions are preserved.

President Al-Zubaidi listened to a detailed explanation from the attendees about the situation the governorate is witnessing in various aspects, stressing that all the needs and issues of the people of the archipelago are of interest to the Council’s leadership, and that it will work to solve them whether through the Council’s bodies, committees and competent departments, or the relevant government agencies.

The attendees expressed their deep thanks for the President Al-Zubaidi’s interest in the Socotra Archipelago Governorate, and his tireless efforts to provide the needs of the people of the governorate and resolve their issues, stressing that Socotra was and will remain southern and will not deviate from the southern consensus, and will be a support and support for the leadership of the Transitional Council until the full aspirations of the people of the south are achieved.
