President Al-Zubaidi receives Acting Japanese Ambassador

The President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Supreme Commander of the Southern Forces, President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, received, at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Thursday evening, the acting Japanese Ambassador to Yemen, Mr. Kazuhiro Higashi.
The President of STC discussed with the acting Japanese Ambassador, the ways and mechanisms of strengthening the historical bilateral relations between Japan and our country, praising the unlimited support that has been provided by Japan to boost the developmental aspects in our country in the past and present.
During the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi reassured the importance of Japan’s humanitarian involvement in the various development and humanitarian fields, as well as its vital role in reconstruction and contribution to revive the economy and qualify potentialities in economy, development and administrative sectors.
For his part, the Japanese acting Ambassador expressed his happiness to meet the President of the STC, congratulating him and the new leadership for gaining the confidence to run the country in the upcoming stage, stressing the Japanese government’s support to the Yemen Presidential Leadership Council emanating from Riyadh consultations and its willingness to provide all kinds of developmental assist to help the new leadership to bring forward development, construction, reconstruction, and overcoming consequences of the war.
The acting ambassador brought up that his country will implement a number of vital projects in Yemen, cited rehabilitation of the Containers Port in the capital, Aden, which will be implemented soon through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohammed al-Ghaithi, head of the General Directorate for Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the STC, Mr. Saleh Ghaleb al-Quaiti, representative of the GDFA, Mr. Imad Mohammed, deputy of office director for the President of STC, and Mr. Ali al-Hadayani, Press and Media Secretary to the President of the STC.
