President Al-Zubaidi Reiterates Supporting People of Almahra and Socotra to Manage Affairs of Their Governorates

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), and the deputy head of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) met on Saturday at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with Sheikh Tawakul Salem Yassin, member of the Shura [Consultative] Council and Chairman of the Executive Body of the General Council of the People of Almahra and Socotra.
President Al-Zubaidi listened from Sheikh Yassin to the latest security and humanitarian developments in Almahra Governorate in light of the politicized displacement that the governorate is witnessing within the scheme of demographic change that certain forces are enhancing in an attempt to prolong their control over the governorate and its resources.
President Al-Zubaidi reiterated his support for the people of Almahra and Socotra to manage and secure the affairs of their governorates and his constant strive to assist the efforts of the local authority in Almahra and Socotra, highlighting the need to enhance and upgrade the security services in the two governorates by enabling their people to assume the responsibilities of securing their governorates by themselves.
The President praised the communal role of the General Council of the People of Almahra and Socotra under the leadership of Sultan Abdullah bin Issa Al Afrar, stressing the importance of strengthening communal work in a way that serves the people of Almahra and Socotra to secure their governorates.
For his part, Sheikh Yassin expressed his thanks for the immense efforts made by President Al-Zubaidi to bring triumph for the rights of the people of Almahra and Socotra and enable them to manage the affairs of their governorates, affirming that the people of these two governorates firmly and cohesively stand behind his leadership, which steadfastly contributes to reuniting the southerners, unifying their ranks, and achieving their aspirations.
