President Al-Zubaidi Reviews Progress at Ministry of Youth and Sports and Efforts to Develop Infrastructure

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) met on Saturday with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Naif Saleh Al-Bakri.

During the meeting, the president was briefed by Minister Al-Bakri on the workflow within the ministry, the performance of its offices across the governorates, and the role of the Youth and Sports Welfare Fund in supporting youth and sports activities in the country.

President Al-Zubaidi listened to a detailed briefing from Minister Naif Al-Bakri on the progress of projects implemented by the ministry’s projects sector, as well as the ongoing efforts to enhance sports infrastructure to provide a suitable environment for young people to engage in various sporting activities.

In his briefing, Minister Al-Bakri touched on the challenges and difficulties facing the implementation of certain projects, chief among them being limited funding and a shortage of liquidity due to the difficult circumstances the country is going through, affirming the ministry’s commitment to overcoming these obstacles to ensure the continuity of work in line with the established plans.

President Al-Zubaidi stressed the pivotal role of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in overseeing youth and sporting activities, noting that young people represent the most important segment of society and are the fundamental pillar upon which the future is built.

The president emphasized the need to intensify efforts to develop the sports sector, support young talents, and create suitable conditions for them to contribute to achieving sustainable development and strengthening sports presence both locally and internationally.

At the end of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi reiterated his support for efforts aimed at advancing the youth and sports sector, underscoring the importance of joint coordination among all relevant entities to achieve the desired goals, which would benefit young people and athletes across all governorates.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdul-Salam Humaid, Minister of Transportation, and Mr. Imad Mohammed, office director of the Vice President of the PLC.
