President Al-Zubaidi reviews workflow of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Monday at his office in the capital, Aden, with Dr. Waed Badheeb, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation (MPIC) in the power-sharing government.

President Al-Zubaidi listened to Dr. Waed, who gave a brief explanation of the activities of the ministry during the past period, the nature of projects provided by donor countries and organizations in relief, humanitarian aid, and reconstruction, and what has been accomplished so far, in addition to the challenges encountered in implementing certain projects.

Furthermore, President Al-Zubaidi was briefed by the Minister of PIC on the program of his visit to Morocco along with the Minister of Finance to participate in the meetings of the Arab Fund and the understandings that the ministry has reached with Arab and international funds and financial institutions to pay development and investment loans due on externally funded projects.

As the President praised the efforts made by the Ministry of PIC and its contribution to preparing development plans and programs in different vital sectors, he stressed the importance of redoubling efforts and raising the level of coordination between the Ministry and the various relevant authorities, locally, regionally, and internationally, to ensure the completion of the well-prepared programs and plans with efficiency and competence and to achieve a development shift that contributes to overcoming the economic and financial challenges facing the country.

For his part, Dr. Badheeb expressed his gratitude for President Al-Zubaidi’s keenness and continuous follow-up on the ministry’s activities and incessant efforts to ease any difficulties that may occur or hinder its workflow, affirming that the ministry of PIC will accelerate its pace of work as per plans and programs aimed at achieving the highest completion rates for comprehensive sustainable growth.
