Presidential Leadership Council approves comprehensive economic reform priorities plan submitted by the Prime Minister

SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
The Presidential Leadership Council approved the comprehensive economic reform priorities plan submitted by the Prime Minister.
The comprehensive economic reform priorities plan includes addressing the existing imbalances in the collection of public revenues in the governorates, and obligating all governorates, particularly Aden, Marib, Hadramawt, Al-Mahra, and Taiz, to deposit all central revenues into their designated government accounts at the Central Bank of Yemen and its branches in the liberated governorates. The plan prohibits diverting any of these funds under any pretext.
The approved plan also included a commitment from provincial governors to refrain from interfering in the operations and affairs of customs ports, whether through prohibitions, reductions, exemptions, or other illegal interventions, and to adhere to regulations. All land, sea, and air ports will be subject to direct government customs procedures, including those of the Technical Office. All newly established land, sea, and air ports in violation of applicable laws (Qena, Al-Sahr, Nashtun, and Ras Al-Ara) will be closed. All illegal fees imposed by provincial governors or ministries, or collected through illegal means in violation of applicable laws and regulations, will be abolished.
The plan also included the cancellation of all funds established without legal procedures, and subjecting weighbridges to government oversight. The Road Maintenance Fund will be responsible for supervising these weighbridges and taking appropriate measures.
The plan also included a number of comprehensive economic reform measures, which the Prime Minister presented to the Presidential Leadership Council and which were approved.
