Press Statement by General Directorate of Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the STC on Human Rights Day
SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
The General Directorate of Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) issued a press statement on Human Rights Day, hereunder it is:
While the world celebrates Human Rights Day on December 10, we recall on this occasion the suffering of our people in the South and their violated rights since 1994, as the people of the South were, and still are, victims of treachery hands, killing, abuse of rights, and violations, which we see today in the practises of the Houthi militia and its attacks on civilians and economic facilities in all the cities of the South, in addition to the practises of the First Military Division against the people of the South in the Valley and Desert of Hadramout.
On this occasion, the GDFA of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) stresses the need for concerted local, regional, and international efforts to preserve human rights in the South and Yemen and the necessity to establish a comprehensive political process to secure a political solution to the conflict that guarantees the right of the people of the South to address their cause, master their destiny, stand up for their rights, and determine their political future in a way that achieves their aspirations.
