Relief and Humanitarian Works Authority of STC Discusses Gas Explosion in Mansoura and Importance of Emergency Readiness

The Relief and Humanitarian Works Authority assisting the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), held its second regular meeting for the month of August on Sunday, in the capital, Aden, headed by Lawyer Niran Souki, Head of the Authority.

The Authority’s meeting addressed the repercussions and effects of the explosion that occurred at the gas station in Mansoura district of Aden the capital, and the efforts made to deal with the resulting consequences.

The Authority condemned the permits authorized in residential neighborhoods and areas with dense population and traffic congestion, which pose a threat to the safety and lives of citizens.

In another context, the meeting presented a detailed report on the training workshops organized by the Authority in the governorates of Hadramout and Al-Mahra, which aim to form relief and humanitarian teams qualified to deal with various disasters and crises.

The meeting indicated that these workshops come in implementation of the Authority’s plan for 2024, which aims to enhance the humanitarian response in all southern governorates.

The meeting also discussed the performance of the Social and Public Affairs Departments, and the Martyrs and Wounded Departments of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, and evaluated the performance of the various departments operating under its umbrella, and took the necessary measures regarding them.
