Saadan Pays Visit to NSMA and Highlights Significance of Promoting Media Sector in Almahra

Mr. Saeed Saadan, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), paid a visit on Wednesday to the headquarters of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA) in the capital, Aden, and was received by Mr. Mukhtar Al-Yafe’y, the deputy head of NSMA.

At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Al-Naqeeb, the official spokesman of the Southern Armed Forces and head of the Media Center of the Southern Armed Forces in NSMA, Mr. Saadan was briefed by Mr. Al-Yafe’y on the workflow in the various sectors of NSMA reviewing its future programs, fulfilled achievements during the past period, and prominent role in the success of the First Conference of Southern Journalists and Media Members (FCSJMM) at the local, regional, and international levels, in addition to the crucial outcomes that came out of the conference, foremost of which was the formation of the Syndicate of Southern Journalists and Media Members (SSJMM) and its headship.

Mr. Saadan lauded the immense efforts exerted by NSMA in bringing success to the FCSJMM and the formation of the SSJMM, which is a step on the road to reclaiming all southern press and media institutions and protecting the rights and status of southern journalists and media members.

Likewise, Mr. Saadan highlighted the importance of promoting the media sector in Almahra to cover activities and events in the governorate and confront all false media campaigns; spreading rumours and lies on social media that try to misrepresent the will of the people of the governorate.

In turn, Mr. Mukhtar Al-Yafe’y expressed the readiness of NSMA to boost the media sector in Almahra during the coming period to convey the voice, reveal the sterling will, and enhance the southern identity of the people of Al-Mahra governorate.
