Secretary-General of STC Discusses Relief and Humanitarian Efforts in Southern Governorates with ICRC

The Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Abdulrahman Jalal Shaher Al-Subaihi, on Sundy, met with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Aden the capital.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the Southern Transitional Council and international organizations to support humanitarian efforts and ensure the provision of aid and relief services to displaced persons and affected communities in the southern governorates.
The Secretary-General affirmed the Southern Transitional Council’s readiness to fully cooperate with international organizations and provide all necessary facilities to enable them to carry out their duties effectively, including overcoming any difficulties they may encounter during the implementation of their humanitarian projects.
Mukhtar Al-Yafei, Head of the Social Affairs Authority at the General Secretariat, explained the priorities for urgent humanitarian intervention in war-affected areas, including health needs, water and sanitation, environmental hygiene, and the need for urgent and ongoing food support programs.
For his part, the Regional Director of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation, Mr. Nicola von Arx, expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome, stressing the committee’s commitment to continuing its humanitarian relief efforts in all governorates and strengthening cooperation channels with all stakeholders to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches those in need. He also thanked the Southern Transitional Council for its efforts and cooperation in overcoming the difficulties hindering the mission’s work.
