secretary General of the Southern Transitional Council Meets Poets and Intellects of Abian and Asserts the Importance of Maintaining Abian’s Folk Heritage and Literary Creations
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Aden – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] With attendance of Brigadier Nasser Al-Saadi, member of the council’s presidency, Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, secretary general of the Southern Transitional Council, met a group of Abian’s poets and intellects, in the headquarters of the general secretariat.
The meeting discussed general situation in Abian, especially intellectual and literary aspects. The meeting also discussed the difficulties facing artists and poets in the governorate and how official governmental bodies treat them with negligence.
Lamlas asserted the significant rank of Abian through its distinct folk heritage adding that this should be maintained as a main pillar for establishing the historical and intellectual identity of Abian and the whole south. He added that the council supports artists, poets and intellects of Abian and is eager to help presenting their distinct creative works that will help preserving the folk heritage of this significant governorate.
Poets and intellects appreciated the warm welcome of the secretary general indicating that they appreciated the interest of the Southern Transitional Council in helping and supporting them preserve the southern national heritage as this will establish stronger ties among all sectors of the southern society.
