Security Belt Commander discusses with ICRC visiting areas liberated from terrorism

The General Commander of the Security Belt Forces, Brigadier General Mohsen Al-Wali, on Wednesday, in the capital, Aden, held a meeting through a video conference with the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
In the meeting, Al-Wali expressed the readiness of the security belt forces to facilitate the tasks of the ICRC, assuring the delegation headed by the head of the mission in Aden, Jan Buckle, his keenness to work with humanitarian organizations to facilitate their work.
The ICRC delegation discussed with the Security Belt Command, the issues of the ongoing humanitarian crisis, and the need to reach civilians in need of assistance and aids.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed on the necessity of continuing cooperation in the fields of training, providing logistical support and humanitarian relief in the affected areas.
They also discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the security forces and the International Committee of the Red Cross in the framework of protecting human rights and improving humanitarian conditions, in partnership with the southern armed forces.
The Red Cross delegation affirmed its intention to send its humanitarian teams to the areas liberated from terrorism in the central region of Abyan Governorate to support humanitarian efforts, in addition to Karish and Tur Al-Baha in Lahj Governorate.
