Security Belt Forces and Police Department Launch an Arms Banning Campaign in Aden
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Aden – Exclusive[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″][su_dropcap]B[/su_dropcap]ackup and Support Brigades (Security Belt) and Aden Police Department launched an arm banning campaign on Wednesday August 21st, 2019 in Aden. The campaign targeted weapon markets in Sheikh Othman and Mansoura and confiscated all unauthorized weapons amid warm welcome of citizens. An official source in backup and support brigades indicated that the campaign achieved significant success in its first day. He added that the campaign is planned as follows:
Banning all weapons carried by civilians or military personnel in public and private hospitals, faculties, schools, educational institutes, private transportations, busses, stations, ministries, courts, official facilities, coasts, gardens, parks, public markets and streets.
The campaign lasts for 24 hrs. a day for 3-4 days.
Anyone who carries a weapon of any kind, either civilian or military, will be given a receipt for the seized weapon and he can either license the gun or leave it for confiscation.
All military sets in military or security missions will have temporary authorizations for their movements identifying their start, path, target and return points. Any sets without authorizations will be arrested.
Military personnel heading to their shifts will carry temporary authorizations identifying their path (home-unit) and anyone who violates this will be vulnerable to confiscating his weapon. Any military personnel is not allowed to carry his weapon or dress formally after the end of his shift either in public markets or on streets.
The campaign stops after four day and will be resumed one week later with the same conditions. The second stop will be followed by a third round where weapons will be cut with special tools. The second stage will target car plates, documents and dark glass.
Phone numbers will be declared for reports by citizens against any violations.
Similar campaigns will be initiated in Lahj and Abian.
Department of Emotional Guidance of the backup and support brigades, headed by sheikh Arafat Said Abdullah, accompanied the campaign and distributed postures and stickers warning against weapons.
Karam Mashrequy, commander of Sheikh Othman sector, Hussain Almasour, police chief of Mansoura, Hussain Al-Duaihi, vice commander of Mansoura sector and Mohamed Al-Sehiouni, attended the launch.
