Security Deployment of Army and Police Forces to Secure Demonstrations Against Development Halt and Reform-Related Governor in Socotra
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Socotra – Agencies [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] Angry citizens from all over Socotra Archipelago demonstrated in front of the governorate’s building while military and police troops were deployed to secure peaceful demonstrations. Protesters said that they are protesting against the acts of Reform Party represented in governor of Socotra who is halting all development efforts granted by the Arab Coalition, especially UAE that generously supported the Archipelago. Protesters indicated that the governor stopped all works in vital sectors like electricity, roads, fisheries and education in addition to launching unethical media campaigns against the Arab Coalition’s efforts in liberating the country from Al-Houthis. Protesters added that the governor urged his subordinates to spread rumors that disturbed public security and dismissed several employees and replaced them with his supporters. Protesters indicated their resentment of such acts and complained to president Hady as the governor deliberately ignores ministerial decisions and enforces only orders coming from Mareb, as they said.
