SMA NEWS – ATAQ
The Shabwa Defense Force, with the support of the Giants Forces, continues to defeat the remnants of the rebels and the Brotherhood from the governorate’s districts located in South.
Shabwa Defense Force, with the active participation of the Giants forces, penetrated, on Monday evening, into Jardan District, about 35 km from Ataq, the capital of Shabwa Governorate, on the vital line linking the governorates of Shabwa, Marib and Hadramout:
A military source confirmed that Shabwa Defense Force and the giants defeated the rebel groups affiliated with the terrorist Brotherhood from the town of “Nada” on the international line in Jardan after limited clashes.
Clashes are now taking place near the town of “Al-Mizan”, amid the retreat of the Brotherhood’s rebel groups and elements to the oil town of “Ayad”, to the west of the district, which is also famous for producing the finest Yemeni honey.
According to the same source, Brotherhood groups brought military reinforcements from the city of Ma’rib to the town of “Al-Uqla” in Arma’a district, located in the far north-east of Shabwa governorate, on Hadramout border.
After the Brotherhood militia retreated from Ataq, it sought to enhance its presence in the oil facilities in the neighboring districts in an attempt to pressure the Presidential Leadership Council to pass its requirements to dismiss the governor of Shabwa and remove the Giants forces from it after being liberated from the Houthis.
Brotherhood militias are taking oil areas, such as sector S2 in Al-Aqla in Armaa district, and sector 4 in Ayyad area in Jardan district, as a starting point for their attacks towards Ataq city, which the Shabwa authorities considered a security threat to the oil companies.
Shabwa Defense Force and the Giants Forces will continue to secure all oil installations, the governorate’s border crossings, and the international vital line connecting to the town of “Al-Abr”, which connects Yemen to Saudi Arabia.
