Shatara Chairs Periodic Meeting of Assembly’s Administrative Body

The Administrative Body in the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting on Thursday, chaired by Mr. Lotfi Shatara, member of the STC’s Presidium and deputy chairman of the Assembly, in the presence of Dr. Anis Luqman, deputy chairman of the Assembly.

At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by several ministers of the STC in the power-sharing government like Prof. Dr. Abdul-Nasser Al-Wali, Minister of Civil Service, Eng. Manea bin Yameen, Minister of Electricity and Energy and Dr. Mohammed Al-Zou’ari, Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, Mr. Shatara welcomed the ministers to discuss certain topics and issues related to the general situation of the ministries.

Prior to that, the attendees stood for a minute to tributely read Al-Fatiha for the souls of the blessed martyrs who fell on the battlefields in defence of the pure land of the South.

After that, Prof. Al-Wali gave a satisfied explanation of the practical measures that have been taken in the Council of Ministers to serve citizens, reviewing the political and diplomatic situation and the efforts made by the ministers and leaders of the STC, in addition to the visions and suggestions they presented to address service and living problems and combat corruption to improve the situation and alleviate the distress of citizens, affirming that the country is passing through crucial turning points and the consequences of the war still cast a shadow on various levels, and that it requires political acumen, diplomatic skill, concerted efforts, cohesiveness, and rapprochement, taking into account national, regional, and international interests, by virtue of our geographical location to get out of the bottleneck and reach the determined goal of restoring the state of the South.
To the end of the meeting, the discussion was thrown open for questions, to which the ministers responded satisfactorily. Furthermore, it was agreed to complete the rest of the agenda on the next Sunday.
The meeting was attended by Eng. Nizar Haitham, member of STC’s Presidium, and Mr. Ahmed Qassem, Office Head of the Chairman of the National Assembly.
