Shatara Chairs the Periodic Meeting of Assembly’s Administrative Body

The Administrative Body in the National Assembly of the Southeren Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting on Monday, chaired by Mr. Lotfi Shatara, member of the STC’s Presidium and deputy chairman of the Assembly, in the presence of lawyer Niran Souqi, member of the Presidium and deputy chairperson of the Assembly.
At the meeting, the administrative body reviewed several topics, the most important of which was the alliance within the framework of the power-sharing government and the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC). It also shed light on the issue of corruption in state institutions, especially the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Moreover, The administrative body discussed the role of the STC’s media in the current and upcoming phases.
During the meeting, the administrative body announced its solidarity with “the youth of anger” in the Valley of Hadhramout, who are calling for the transfer of the forces of the First Military Division and the suffering of the people of the Valley in light of its existence and practise of terrorist acts like murder and public disruption, and insisting on replacing them with the people of Hadhrmout, declaring its solidarity with the youth of anger and the masses of the Valley of Hadramout.
The administrative body, too, called on all the people of the South to support the people of the Valley Hadramout against the crimes and inhumane acts they experience.
Similarly, the Administrative Board asserted the need to complete the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, especially the transfer of the First Military Division from the Valley of Hadramout to the frontlines, and stood before the deterioration of living and service conditions and the distress of the people of the South in light of the rampant corruption that corrosively eats away at all state institutions, which in turn reflected negatively on the lives of citizens in the South.
Likewise, the Administrative Body condemned the forms of corruption that have recently been disclosed in the field of higher education, praised the efforts made in exposing that corruption, encouraged the continuation of revealing all kinds of corruption in the rest of the fields and institutions, and also called for taking deterrent measures to hold those involved accountable and complete the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement regarding the restructure of the Central Organization for Control and Auditing and activating the role of the Economic Supreme Council formed in the decree to transfer power resulting from the Riyadh consultations.
At the same time, the Body stood before the alliance of the STC with the framework of the power-sharing government and the PLC, which are the official bodies responsible for the corruption and deterioration of living and service conditions.
The administrative body called for re-improving the process of “the Alliance of Necessity” within the framework of the government and the PLC so that it proceeds in accordance with the Riyadh agreement and consultations and enhances the empowerment of the people of the South to effectively manage their resources and land and to upgrade state institutions and performance in the capital, Aden, and the rest of the governorates of the South.
