Shatara meets head of the Southern Independent Commission for Combating Corruption

Lutfi Shatara, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly for Oversight and Inspection Affairs, met on Wednesday, at the National Assembly headquarter, with Dr. Zaid Qasim Thabet, Head of the Independent Southern Commission for Combating Corruption.
The meeting, which included Dr. Saleh Hassan Al-Wajih, Secretary-General of the Commission, discussed ways of cooperation between the National Assembly and the Independent Southern Commission for Combating Corruption, in accordance with a shared vision in strengthening oversight work on institutions and tracking corruption and its focus in government facilities, as well as defining a joint working mechanism, according to the outputs of decisions and recommendations Issued by the third session of the National Assembly held in the period (13 – 15 January 2020).
The Vice- Chairman of the Assembly stressed on the need to cooperate integrally between the National Assembly and the Commission, to strengthen the principle of oversight and to reveal the corruption that contributed to bringing the situation in the south to where it is today.
