Sooki gets briefed on results of ICRC field visits to prisons and camps in Aden the capital

The member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Lawyer Niran Sooki, received in her office at the headquarters of the Assembly, Ms. Agnieszka Korkiewicz, Deputy Coordinator of the Protection Department of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

During the meeting, Sooki was briefed by Ms. Agnieska, about the results of the field visits she made to prisons and camps in the capital, Aden, to get a closer look at the situation of prisoners and detainees there.

Ms. Agnieszka expressed thanks to lawyer Niran Sooki, for the efforts made in overcoming the difficulties faced by the ICRC’s humanitarian work during her field visits.

For her part, lawyer Niran confirmed that the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council is working hard to overcome the difficulties in front of the work of international organizations that deal with human rights and humanitarian issues, stressing that the Southern Transitional Council is working in a legal manner with all the issues and crimes raised, which were read by the organization during its field visits to legitimate prisons and camps in the capital, Aden, thanking them for their role and their humanitarian work that is far from politics.
