Sources reveal receiving Southern journalists death threats
Sources revealed that a number of southern journalists were subjected to threats of physical liquidation as part of violations against the media in the liberated provinces, the last of which was the threat of Russian RT correspondent, Salah Al-Aqil.
The journalist Al-Aqil received messages from an anonymous phone number threating him of getting murdered, as part of the attempts of political parties and terrorist organizations to target journalistic and media work in the South.
The sources added that other media personnel were exposed to direct and indirect threats, including the journalists Hussein Al-Hanashi, Yasser Al-Yafi, Fawaz Al-Hanashi, Adnan Al-Ajam, and the war photographer Saleh Al-Ubaidi, in addition to the exposure of many of them to media campaigns via social media by figures affiliated with the Islah party and the Brotherhood.
The Russian RT channel had revealed in a news report that its correspondent in the capital Aden, had received messages of death threat if he continued to cover the events in the South.
The journalist Salah Al-Aqil is one of the most prominent journalists in the southern media scene during the past years, in which he has worked with many international and local channels.
