Southern Armed Forces Fully Control Kataba
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Al-Dalia – Exclusive[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″][su_dropcap]K[/su_dropcap]ataba and its nearby towns on the borderline of Senah – Hajar witnessed fierce unprecedent clashes on Friday May 17th, 2019 between Southern Armed Forces and Al-Hussain Battalions of Al-Houthi militias causing Al-Houthis hundreds of killing and injuries.
Southern troops named the operation as “Breath-Taking” where all southern armed components participate.
Under commandership of brigadier Hady Ahmed Al-Awlaki, and his deputy, colonel Ahmed Kaed Saleh, southern armed forces regained full control over Kataba and another eight neighboring towns from Al-Houthis.
Field sources in Ib and Zimar indicated that tens of Al-Houthis were killed in clashed occurred in Kataba and its districts as their dead bodies were sent to hospitals in Ib and Zimar along with hundreds of injured.
Abd Al-Nasser Al-Gabri, a southern leader, indicated that the western and southern axes of Kataba are still witnessing clashes with Al-Houthis. He added that southern troops fought Al-Houthis from one house to another causing them severe loses in soles and equipment in addition to capturing tens of militants.
Breath-Taking operation started on several axes towards Kataba as southern troops launched attacks from the western and eastern circular roads in addition to main bridge road and cleared the city off Al-Houthis after three hours of fierce fights. In addition, Al-Houthis suffered severe loses i=on other fronts including Hajar, Zu Roain and Al-Hemiari. By that the southern armed forces controlled Kataba and Al-Hasha.
Field and public hospitals in Al-Dalia are suffering severe lack of medical equipment and medications in addition to the lack of ambulances being targeted by Al-Houthis while evacuating injured persons amid fierce clashes.
Towns and villages being affected by fights are witnessing mass exodus due to random bombard of Al-Houthis over these areas while international and regional organizations are totally absent from the scene.
