Southern Syndicate for Teachers and Educators Call for a Strike in Protest of Deteriorating Living Conditions and Currency Collapse

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Aden – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] Southern Syndicate for Teachers and Educators called for a strike in protest of deteriorating living conditions and collapse of national currency while the government keeps silent towards all this. The syndicated called for the strike to be launched on September 9th, 2018 at the first day of school year. The syndicate issued the following statement:
Southern Syndicate for Teachers and Educators expresses deep sorrow for the deteriorating living conditions that may lead to a humanitarian catastrophe in addition to continuous collapse of national currency that led poor salaries to lose its value. Every house now lives in poverty as the government is totally unable to stand against those who manipulate the living conditions of citizens. This led the syndicate to express resentment through calling all teachers and educators to go on a strike in all governorates and directorates to break up this silence. The strike will be initiated by standing for one hour from 8:00 am to 9:00 am in front of all schools on Sunday September 9th, 2018, the first day of school year, then to close all schools and dismiss students to their homes. This comes as a resentment of the launch of the new school year under the continuous policy of hunger and impoverishment initiated by the government to cover up its failure and pass it as a status que. This is totally denounced by the syndicate. We are very sorry to take such extreme measures but we find ourselves forced to defend our lives and the lives of our families against hunger and poverty.
