[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Adan – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] The southern transitional council notified Mr. Martin Griffith, UN delegate to Yemen, with the importance of withdrawing any northern troops from the south. Salem Thabet Al-Awlaquy, official spokesman of the council and member of the presidency, indicated that the council notified Mr. Griffith and all other parties them met that the solution of the southern cause is in respecting the southern people’s will and their right in having their political rights, including full independence of the southern state with its new regimen.
In a post on his official page on face book, Al-Awlaquy said: “It is inevitable that northern troops to be withdrawn from southern zones to create a healthy political climate for negotiations. Anything else will lead to more crises and wars. The evidence is clear in 1994 and 2015 wars”. He indicated that the south will no longer be marginalized during negotiations as new reality is formed on the ground after 2015. The southern voice can no longer be ignored, and everyone should understand that fact. He added: “A year since the Historic Declaration of Adan on May 4th, 2017 and the establishment of the southern transitional council in May 11th, 2017. It was a year of successful political, organizational and field work. The south became in focus, instead of being marginalized during political talks. A full year of hard work and determination, despite all tries for hindering such efforts through misleading and abusive campaigns. But, thanks to God and the southern people, the council is still the actual custodian of the southern cause”.
