Southern Transitional Council Presidency holds joint meeting with military and security leaders
The Southern Transitional Council Presidency held on Sunday, a joint meeting with the military and security commanders headed by Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly.
The meeting stood before the latest political, military and security developments on the national scene, and the measures taken to deal with the risks of the spread of the Corona pandemic.
The meeting condemned the terrorist attack on the Arab coalition convoy in the Mansoura district, and stressed on the need for urgent investigation to uncover the perpetrators and those behind to bring them to justice.
The meeting approved a number of measures regarding the general developments taking place in the south, and the capital, Aden, the most important of which are the closure of air and sea ports, except for cases related to relief and medical materials, and the assignment of military and security units each within their jurisdiction to implement this.
The meeting also approved the suspension of work in state facilities and institutions, with the exception of service and humanitarian facilities necessary for the life, security and stability of the citizens and for a period of two weeks subject to renewal, indicating that facilities officials have the right to determine the workers required to continue working in cases of necessity and in accordance with the conditions of each facility.
In addition, the meeting approved the issuing of a general decision to stop the disbursement of land and the sale of any land and any form of development therein for a period of 90 days from the date of the issuance of the decision required to be issued by the President of the Transitional Council, including the implementation mechanisms.
The meeting stressed on the military and security units to continue to implement the decision of the President of the Transitional Council of partial curfew strictly within the scope of its competence and the continuation of the curfew from ten o’clock in the evening until six in the morning amenable to increase the prohibition hours according to the new circumstances.
The meeting mandated the security of the governorates to close the qat markets or any other gatherings and coordinate with the military units present within the scope of each directorate to assist the police station in the districts to implement it, with the Military and Security Committee bearing responsibility for following up the implementation of the authority’s decisions and reporting any violations by any party to take the necessary action for it, and obliging the leaderships, political, military, and security as role models to implement decisions and take the necessary accountability when breaching implementation.
The meeting touched on a number of topics related to the situation on the southern scene and the current situation by some forces to push the south to the war, where the meeting stressed on the need to calm and work in all ways to preserve security and stability and protect the rights, freedoms, safety and security of the citizens of the south, and approved the necessary measures in this regard.
