Sputnik quoted al-Awlaki saying: “Governmental, administrative and financial corruption in Yemen is a whole system that is not limited to specific names. This change doesn’t express a real attitude to face corruption as maintaining the same government reflects clearly that there are power that want this corruption to continue”.
He added: “The southern transitional council offered inclusive policies to decrease corruption and preserve the country’s revenues through decreasing governmental expenses, guaranteeing security, providing stability and avoiding all factors threatening the economy like printing billions of the national currency without coverage and paying employees’ salaries with foreign currencies in addition to the lack of transparency in selling oil cargos and not depositing its prices in the central bank. These acts led the country to the current tragic situation”.
He concluded that the council will not accept any ministerial offices and will continue struggle against corruption till its system is dismantled.
