STC Assembly Reviews Working Strategy of the Southern National Dialogue Team

SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
The Administrative Body of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its weekly meeting on Wednesday, headed by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly and Acting President of the STC, and in the presence of the Southern National Dialogue Team (SNDT).

At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Issam Abdo Ali, Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, Mr. Al-Kathiri welcomed the Southern National Dialogue Team (SNDT), lauding their efforts to strengthen the cohesiveness of the South.

Al-Kathiri has reaffirmed that the assembly and all its committees will work alongside them with all their potentials to complete the remaining general procedures of the national dialogue, ensuring that all Southerners are included with no exception. He wished them further success and achievement towards greater national cohesion in the South.

The body listened to a comprehensive briefing from Mr. Saleh Al-Fardi, deputy head of the SNDT, on the team’s strategy, its objectives, and the achievements it has fulfilled in recent months through its meetings with various components and personalities across all governorates of the South.

Similarly, the body was briefed by the team on the matrix of general measures for the implementation of the principles, foundations, and obligations of the Southern National Charter, which begins with an outlining of the general provisions binding on how to implement the Charter and the nature of the terms and paragraphs of the general executive measures for all institutions and sectors in the South.

Following this, the body put forward several proposals and perspectives to bolster the effectiveness of the dialogue team in a manner that would lead to driving forward the work of team members and those tasked with implementing the general action plan of the Southern National Charter.

In a separate context, the meeting discussed the Houthi militia’s frequent attempts to escalate their criminal war on various fronts along the different borders of the South and their collusion with terrorist and extremist elements. These actions follow the repeated failure of their attempts to incite sectarian strife and sow zone-based discord, undermine security, and destabilise the South, which have consistently been met with staunch southern resistance to these terrorist militias and their destructive projects.

The body of the Assembly has stressed the urgent need to intensify awareness campaigns regarding the escalation posed by the Houthis and their alleged collusion with terrorist elements, highlighting that this threat does not only pose a threat to the South but also extends to neighbouring countries and the entire region. The assembly has called on the people of the South to coalesce around their armed forces as they continue to counter these aggressive attempts.

At the end of the meeting, the Assembly chairman stressed the imperative for heads and deputy heads of the committees to redouble their efforts in executing assigned tasks as per the work plans. In addition to that, a range of issues pertaining to the overall situation in the South were discussed, and appropriate measures were decided upon.
