STC Foreign Affairs Discusses Cooperation and Partnership Opportunities with CMI Delegation

Dr. Saleh Mohsen Al-Haj, Director of the Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Authority (FAEA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), received a delegation from the CMI-Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation today, Monday, in the capital Aden, headed by Mr. Yasser Al-Qatraneh, the foundation’s advisor for Middle East affairs, and Ms. Julia Pickhardt, project manager for Yemen.
The meeting, which was attended by Mr. Anis Al-Sharifi, Deputy Director of FAEA, and Dr. Najib Qayid, Head of the International Organizations Department, discussed opportunities for cooperation and partnership within the framework of strengthening the work of international and civil society organizations in the South.
Dr. Al-Haj welcomed the delegation and their visit to the capital, Aden, affirming the STC’s openness to all opportunities for cooperation and partnership with international organizations, and lauding their ongoing efforts in both the South and the region.
In turn, the CMI delegation expressed their gratitude for the efforts made to facilitate the interventions and work of international organizations, praising the successful experience of the STC in promoting the values of partnership and dialogue in the political process and what emanated from it in terms of Southern National Reconciliation.
The delegation indicated that this experience is consistent with the foundation’s orientations toward enhancing capacity and efficiency in the process of consultation and reconciliation and promoting peace in the region.
