STC in Shabwa confirms its support for leadership of the local authority to serve the governorate

An expanded consultative meeting held in Shabwa included the head of the Executive Body of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Shabwa Governorate, Sheikh Lahmar Ali Al-Aswad, with members of the National Assembly and the STC and members of STC Advisors’ council in the governorate.

The meeting stressed the steadfastness of the southern armed forces and the sacrifices of the martyrs and wounded in defending the nation’s borders, protecting the gains of the southern revolution, and confronting terrorist groups.

In the meeting, which was held over two sessions, with the participation of a number of local authority leadership, military and security leaders, representatives of civil society organizations, and a number of social figures, Lahmar praised the role of the security authorities of Shabwa Defense Forces and the security services in all their formations in enhancing security vigilance and arresting the perpetrators of crimes and those causing disturbances to security and stability.

Sheikh Lahmar Al-Aswad affirmed standing alongside the local authority in the governorate, led by Governor Awad Mohammed al-Wazir, to serve Shabwa Governorate in all fields militarily, security and service, and to defend the lands of Shabwa Governorate against attacks of the Iranian-backed Houthi militias and terrorist organizations.

The meeting denounced movements that aim to tamper with the security and stability of the governorate, control its capabilities, plunder its wealth, and destroy its infrastructure, and stand united alongside the local authority and the Shabwani community to obtain the rights of the governorate in all service, functional and political sectors.

The second session of the meeting discussed the organizational aspects within the framework of the governorate, the relationship with the central council bodies, and reached recommendations regarding the situation in Shabwa, in preparation for submitting them to the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council.

The meeting approved assigning the leaders of the three bodies to prepare an action plan that specifies the directions of coordination work between the local council bodies and the continuation of coordination work to serve the governorate and the south in general.
