The Southern Transitional Council (STC) on Wednesday, issued a statement of disapproval and denunciation for the exploitation of the interview of President Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council, with the British Broadcasting Channel (BBC) and using it outside of its meant context,

Hereunder is the statement:
The Southern Transitional Council deplores the exploitation of President Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi’s interview with the BBC, cutting off part of it, and using it out of its context, in which his shown answers came as part of a lengthy interview that dealt with the political scene in the South, Yemen, and the region.

From this standpoint, the Southern Transitional Council will reserve its right to respond to that action through legal frameworks, in light of what happened in terms of cutting off the president’s statements and using them negatively, with the intention of defamation and deliberate abuse.

The Southern Transitional Council affirms that it is a political entity that carries the cause of the people of the South and their national aspirations to gain independence and restore and build their independent federal state, and that it has determined the path of peaceful action, protection of civilians and self-defense when necessary. It has been engulfed by the fire of terrorism, murder, assassinations and injustice, but the great goals, STC carries, makes it keen to pursue noble means to achieve it, and these characteristics are what always guide its national work.

The Southern Transitional Council calls for a comprehensive and transparent investigation into any allegations related to human rights violations, political assassinations, and the recruitment, settlement, and employment of terrorist groups from the early 1990s until today, stressing its continuation of efforts to combat terrorism and extremism and drying up its sources, and stressing its readiness to participate in any local or international investigation process in a way that ensures that those responsible for all extrajudicial killings over the past three decades are held accountable, and that no one is allowed to escape punishment.
