STC Mourns Martyrdom of Heroic Commander Abdul-Latif al-Sayyid and Several Comrades

The Southern Transitional Council (STC) mourned the martyrdom of the heroic commander Abdul-Latif al-Sayyid, commander of the Security Belt Forces in Abyan governorate, and a number of his comrades, who passed away as martyrs today, Thursday, in a cowardly terrorist operation in Mudiyah district in Abyan governorate.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The Almighty says, (Of the believers are men who are true to that which they covenanted with Allah. Some of them have paid their vow by death (in battle), and some of them are waiting; and they have not altered in the least. Allah Almighty is truthful.
With hearts that fully believe in Allah’s will and destiny, and with great sadness and deep sorrow, we mourn for our great people of the South and for the armed forces the martyrdom of the heroic commander Abdul-Latif Mohammad Hussein Bafqih (al-Sayyid), commander of the Security Belt Forces in Abyan governorate, and a number of his comrades, who were martyred by the hands of treachery and terrorism on This morning, Thursday, August 10, 2023, while performing their national duty, they vanguarded the forces to confront the terrorist organizations in Mudiya district.
This tragedy is great and heavy for our people and the armed forces, with the martyrdom of a vigilant commander, Abdul-Latif Al-Sayyed, who dedicated himself to the battle to eradicate terrorism, vanguarding the ranks in defending the South, and preserving its security and stability with all sincerity, loyalty, and courage.

We realize that our battle against terrorism; its hideouts, command structures, funders, and supporters will cost us ultimate sacrifices, but we will not back down from fighting in this battle until we eradicate this scourge that is alien to our peaceful society and dry up its sources from every inch in our beloved South, so that everyone can enjoy security, safety, and peace, and thsi is our firm vow to the heroic commanders and soldiers who gave their precious lives cheaply for this noble goal.
As we mourn the heroic commander Abdul-Latif al-Sayyid and his comrades, we extend our sincerest condolences and deepest sympathy to his family, relatives, true beloved, colleagues, and the families of all the martyrs who passed in this cowardly terrorist operation. We also console ourselves and the nation in this great tragic loss, praying to Allah the Almighty to make their abode in His paradise with the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous, and to grant a speedy recovery to the wounded.
