STC Political Commission Warns Against Overlooking Entitlements of the South and Highlighs Importance of Southern National Unity

The political commission (PC) assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) has stressed the need for the regional and international community to respect the will of the people of the South and their aspirations to restore their state, asserting that this is the real guarantor of regional stability.
This came during its regular meeting, on Wednesday, for the first half of August, in the capital, Aden, which was chaired by Dr. Khaled Ba-Madhaf, deputy head of the PC.
The Political Commission called for the inclusion of the huge ultimate sacrifices made by the people of the South in any UN-led political endeavors to cease hostilities and bring about peace, stressing that any negotiations must include a special framework for resolving the cause of the people of the South.
The Commission warned against any attempts to disregard or target the cause of the South, asserting that such acts would only inflame the conflict and aggravate the situation. It called for strengthening Southern national unity to counter current challenges and preserve hard-won gains.
During the meeting, the PC reviewed a monitoring report on the political landscape and its agenda and took corresponding measures.
