The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regularly scheduled meeting today, Thursday, chaired by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC.
The meeting, which was attended by the STC’s ministers in the government and the heads of its auxiliary bodies, shed light on the efforts made by the STC’s Humanitarian Aid and Relief Commission (HARC) in alleviating the humanitarian suffering of our people. In this regard, the Presidium listened to a detailed report presented by the head of the HARC, lawyer Niran Souqi, in which she reviewed the efforts of the Commission in implementing the relief campaign directed by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi during the holy month of Ramadan with generous support from HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to the families of martyrs and poor and needy families in all governorates of the South.
Likewise, the meeting stood before the latest developments in the humanitarian situation in all the governorates of the South, in light of the continued deterioration of the economic situation and the decline of basic services. In this respect, the Presidium called on traders, investors, businessmen, and local, regional, and international companies to contribute to the development of economic resources in the South by investing in the oil and gas, electricity, and services sectors, stressing the importance of the government fulfilling its duty to provide all required facilities to investors and ease any difficulties that they may face.
On the security side, the Presidium reviewed the results of the security campaign carried out by the Security Belt Forces (SBF), supported by a unit of the Southern Giants Forces (SGF), under the directives of the Supreme Command to end tribal clashes in the Al-Had district in Yafe’a, according to a report presented by the campaign commander, Brigadier General Jalal al-Rabie’i. In this context, the Presidium praised the great success achieved by the campaign in defusing the tribal clashes, quenching sedition, arresting outlaws, and restoring tranquility to the areas of the district. It also commended the great role of the tribal, military, and social leaders in Yafe’a in general and in Al-Had district in particular, and their efforts in supporting the campaign and its success.
In a separate context, the Presidium studied the latest developments related to the political process sponsored by the United Nations to end the conflict in the country and bring about stability to the region through a briefing by Mr. Amr Ali Al-Beidh, member of the STC’s Presidium and the Special Representative of the President of the STC, in which he focused on the latest developments related to the UN roadmap in light of the ongoing Houthi escalation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait and their continued mobilization on all fronts.
