STC Presidium Reviews Ministry of Electricity’s Plans for Sustainable Solutions to the Power Generation Deficit

The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regularly scheduled meeting today, Thursday, headed by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC, with the attendance of a number of the STC’s ministers and heads of auxiliary bodies.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Presidium extended its greetings to the people of the South, both inside and outside the country, as well as to the heroes of the Southern Armed Forces and security services stationed in the fields of honor and heroism on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the declaration of disengagement on May 21, 1994, and the ninth anniversary of the historic victory achieved by the Southern Resistance in liberating Ad Dhale’a Governorate from the Houthi militia on May 25, 2015.

In this respect, the Presidium reiterated the STC’s commitment towards achieving the main goal of the people of the South and their heroic resistance, which is to fully complete the disengagement project and restore and build the independent federal state of the South on the basis of equal citizenship, justice, and national partnership within its internationally recognized borders until May 21, 1990.

In a separate context, the Presidium listened to a briefing by Minister of Electricity Eng. Manea Bin Yameen, which included a detailed explanation of the electricity situation in the capital, Aden, and the rest of the governorates, the solutions that the ministry is working on to stabilize generating energy, and the strategic plans to find sustainable solutions for electricity generation using clean energy. The Presidium stressed in this regard the role of the government to assume its responsibility in ensuring the adequate cash liquidity to immediately provide fuel for power generation stations.

Organizationally, the Presidium stood during its meeting held this morning before the efforts made by the Training and Qualification Commission (TQC) in the STC to enhance the capabilities of the members of the Council’s central and local bodies in various aspects, in light of a report submitted by the Head of the Authority, Dr. Mona Bashraheel, which summarized the most important training activities implemented by the TQC since the beginning of the current year 2024, which targeted hundreds of the STC’s staff in all the governorates of the South.

The Presidium reviewed the level of implementation of the tasks assigned in previous meetings, touched on a range of topics and issues related to the work of the central and local bodies, and took the appropriate measures in this regard.
