STC Representative to Germany Discusses Developments in the South with Berghof Foundation

SMA NEWS – BERLIN
Dr. Amin Al-Ghazali, the representative of the Southern Transitional Council to the Federal Republic of Germany, met in Berlin with Dr. Oliver Welles, Director of the Berghof Foundation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest political, economic, and humanitarian developments, in light of the ongoing repercussions of the war sparked by the terrorist Houthi militias, the resulting severe deterioration of basic services, and a worsening humanitarian crisis resulting from the targeting of infrastructure and economic facilities.
Dr. Al-Ghazali provided a comprehensive briefing to the attendees, reviewing the political situation in the south and Yemen and highlighting the Southern Transitional Council’s visions and proposals to support peace opportunities and enhance regional stability.
Dr. Al-Ghazali stressed the importance of ensuring that upcoming meetings and conferences yield tangible results, calling for continued humanitarian and relief support, especially in light of the severe shortages of food and medicine and the spread of disease in several southern governorates.
For his part, Dr. Oliver Wells emphasized, in his remarks, the importance of continuing the ongoing preparatory meetings and the role of various parties in advancing peace efforts.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Isabel Kleich, Senior Project Manager for Regional Peace Support in the Middle East; Ms. Dalia Barsoum, the Foundation’s Representative in the Middle East; and Mr. Joshua Rogers, the Foundation’s Deputy Representative in the Middle East.
