STC Secretariat Discusses Political Scene Report and Recent Developments in the South

The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting on Wednesday in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Fadhl Mohammed Al-Gaadi, member of the STC’s Presidium and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat.
The meeting discussed a report on the political scene in the southern arena during the second half of this month, December 2023, submitted by the Political Department, which included a range of political developments, most notably the speech of President Aidarous Al-Zoubaidi at the expanded meeting of the STC’s leadership in the capital, Aden, and the STC’s coordinators at the University of Aden, in addition to the status of the cause of the people of the South after the UN special envoy announced the road map.
The meeting reviewed the organizational report for the departments of the Secretariat for the month of November submitted by the Organizational Department and the draft plan of the Secretariat’s meetings for the first quarter of the year 2024.
The meeting shed light on a range of developments in the southern arena, most notably the President’s meetings with the local authorities and the youth and women’s sectors in the Lahj and Al-Dhale’a governorates and his inspection of the fighting fronts, in addition to his visit to the Bab al-Mandeb Strait and Mayyun Island in light of the continuing threats by the Houthi militias on maritime navigation.
The meeting touched on the weekly activity report of departments of the Secretariat and the work they carried out in their various jurisdictions during the aforementioned period, in addition to reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting.
