STC Secretariat Discusses Recent Developments in the Economic Scene of the South

The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Fadhl Mohammed Al-Gaadi, member of the STC’s Presidium and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat.

In the beginning of the meeting, the Secretary-General extended the greetings and blessings of the STC to all the women of the South and the world on the occasion of International Women’s Day, wishing them all success in their current work and future tasks.

The meeting discussed the economic scene in the South during February 2024, as per a report submitted by the Economic and Services Department, including a range of economic developments, especially the Central Bank public foreign currency auctions associated with negative repercussions on the economy, further shedding light on the risks of the increasing influx of displaced people to the governorates of the South and its impact on the present and future of southerners.

During the meeting, the Secretariat reviewed a number of administrative and organizational aspects at the level of departments of the Secretariat, the local leadership executive bodies (LLEBs) in the governorates of the South, university coordinators, and a range of developments on the southern national scene during the past period.

The meeting touched on the job discipline report focused on the staff of the Secretariat during the month of February 2024, submitted by the Financial and Administrative Department, as well as the weekly activity report for the departments of the Secretariat, which included the work that was carried out during the aforementioned period, in addition to reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting.
