STC Secretariat Discusses Service-Related and Security Situation Reports in Abyan Governorate

The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting on Sunday, at its headquarters in the capital, Aden, headed by Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Haidara al-Shaqqi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Secretariat.
During the meeting, Mr. Al-Shaqqi reviewed a field report on the visit that he has paid to Abyan Governorate. The report covered the performance of the local leadership executive body (LLEB) of the STC in the governorate, the difficulties and challenges facing its work, as well as the general conditions in the governorate, including services, security, and the confrontations that the security services are launching against extremist groups attempting to undermine the security and stability of the governorate.
The meeting also discussed a report on the political scene during the second half of September, with a focus on the participation of President Al-Zubaidi in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Further to the latest findings of the liaison committee tasked with resolving the recent escalation of tensions in Hadramaut Governorate.
In addition to that, the meeting stood before the latest developments and the workflow of the council’s LLEBs regarding the completion of restructuring the LLEB in districts of the South, aiming at strengthening institutional work at the level of the governorates and districts.
Furthermore, the meeting touched on a report on the activities of the Secretariat’s departments and their accomplishments in their various areas of jurisdiction over the past week, the level of staff work discipline within the Secretariat during the month of September, in addition to reviewing and approving the minutes of its previous meeting.
